    CAJUN CUCUMBER SHRIMP CANAPES

    Have a bite of these Cajun cucumber shrimp canapés and enjoy the spicy, savory, and crunchy flavors that make a perfect party treat. Based on our popular Cajun Shrimp Skillet, this recipe comes together in about 30 minutes. Enjoy!

    Ingredients

    CAJUN SHRIMP

    • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 2 tbs olive oil
    • 1 tbs butter (unsalted)
    • 2 tbs Cajun seasoning
    • 1 tbs garlic, minced
    • 1/2 tsp crushed chili pepper flakes
    • 1 tbs fresh ginger, grated
    • 1 tsp Sel Magique Spicy Blend
    • fresh parsley, for garnish

    CANAPE BASE

    • 1 cucumber, sliced to 1/8" thickness try for a cucumber about 1 1/2" diameter
    • 1 avocado, mashed
    • 1 tbs honey
    • 1 green onion, chopped
    • 2 tbs parsley, chopped
    • 1 tbs fresh lemon juice
    • 1/2 tsp Sel Magique Spicy Blend

    Instructions

    CAJUN SHRIMP

    • In a large bowl add shrimp and season with 1 tsp Sel Magique Spicy Blend. Add olive oil and cajun seasoning and toss until coated.
    • In a skillet add butter and melt over medium heat. Add shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with garlic, ginger, and chili pepper flakes, to taste. Cook for a few minutes on both sides until pink and cooked through. Add 2 tablespoons water to the pan to deglaze the browned bits and spices then coat the shrimp. Transfer out of skillet to a plate and reserve.

    CANAPE ASSEMBLY

    • Slice the cucumber to about 1/8" thickness, wrap in paper toweling to reduce cucumber juiciness, then arrange the slices on your work surface.
    • In a small bowl, mix together the mashed avocado, green onion, parsley, lemon juice and Sel Magique. Mix until creamy.
    • Add a small dollop of the avocado mash to each cucumber slice, then top with one shrimp. Arrange each piece onto your serving plate then garnish with chopped parsley. Serve and enjoy!
