    MARGHERITA FLATBREAD PIZZA

    Margherita flatbread pizza recipe ready in 15 minutes with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil and garlic perfect for dinner or a snack. We use a store-bought naan bread as the base because it cooks up wonderfully as a pizza base, then layer on mozzarella, tomatoes, garlic and basil. Of course add whatever toppings you like. This is a great recipe for kids too, because they can play with various toppings. Do you have a countertop oven? this is a go-to recipe. We specify Sel Magique Spicy Blend because it gives everything an umami-rich kick but use whichever blend you like (Black Truffle is fantastic too, especially with sliced mushrooms). Enjoy!

    Ingredients

    • 1 naan bread
    • 3 slices fresh mozzarella cheese, 1/2" thickness
    • 1 large tomato, sliced thin dry on paper towels to reduce moisture
    • 5-6 leaves fresh basil, sliced into ribbons
    • 3 cloves garlic, pressed
    • 1.5 tbs olive oil
    • 1.5 tbs balsamic vinegar
    • Sel Magique Spicy Blend to taste

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees f
    • Press 3 fresh garlic cloves and mix into 1.5 tablespoons oil.
    • Brush the flatbread with oil & garlic with half the mixture. Place in oven for 5 minutes to crisp up.
    • Remove from oven and place 3 slices of cheese on top of the flatbread, sprinkle with Magique, then place thinly sliced tomatoes on top and repeat with a dash of Magique (don't oversalt). Place back in the oven for another 5 minutes, plus extra 2-3 minutes on broil. Watch the bread closely, if its too dark before 2-3 minutes remove it from the oven immediately.
    • Meanwhile, mix the remaining oil & garlic with 1.5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, stirring until a smooth emulsion forms. Chop the basil.
    • Once flatbread pizza is baked and the edges are golden in color, remove from the oven, drizzle with the balsamic vinegar mixture, sprinkle with basil leaves, slice and serve and enjoy!
